Happy wedding planning, Christina Ricci! Since exclusively confirming to Us Weekly in February that she’s engaged to James Heerdegen, the 33-year-old actress has been busy planning their upcoming ceremony — and it’s harder than she thought.

Us caught up with the bride-to-be at the Night at the Pier Event in NYC on Monday, Apr. 29, and got an update on how the plans are coming along.

“I have a designer who is a friend of mine who is designing a dress for me,” Ricci shared. “I have a venue picked out and a caterer. It’s slow going . . .”

The Bel Ami actress told Us she’ll be having a “moderately sized” wedding, but did not specify a date. “I’m excited to be with all my friends and family,” she explained, “and just have a lovely night.”

Still on her to-do list? Booking the honeymoon!

“We’re figuring it out. It’s more overwhelming than I thought it would be, but the rumors are true. Wedding planning is overwhelming,” she said with a laugh.

Ricci and Heerdegen, a dolly grip, met on the set of her canceled ABC series Pan Am in 2011. “I love so many things about him,” she gushed to Us. “He’s my favorite person on Earth.”

And she “absolutely” hopes to have children some day with her future husband. “I can’t wait to have our own little world replete with small beings!” she said.
