Christina Ricci says the inspiration for her Make Up For Ever custom-made cosmetics bag was “hard rock meets couture”.

The actress has taken her first steps into the beauty world with a limited-edition deal with the American company.

The 32-year-old star’s debut collaboration with the LVMH-owned brand is practical, fun and stylish, with her own personal touches embedded in the design.

“I loved collaborating with Make Up For Ever on a custom make-up bag because I got to design something that actually holds everything I need on the go,” Christina explained to WWD. “My inspiration for the bag was hard rock meets couture, and I added a red lip motif to the geometric design since I love wearing red lipstick. Plus I thought it would add a fun pop of colour.”

The make-up bag is a glitzy number, made of black fake leather adorned with gunmetal studs and metallic silk. The collaboration comes as part of the cosmetic company’s Make Up Bag Remix tour campaign, which is intended to teach consumers how to use their make-up in the most effective way.

The nine-city tour will begin in Los Angeles on February 1, which is when make-up fans can get their hands on Christina’s designs first.

The Make Up Bag Remix tour will also sell products to those who come along to the tour, with the brand hoping that they will increase make-up sales as a result of the Christina collaboration.

Cleverly, the make-up bag Christina’s put her mark on also has an inside pocket detail which is exactly the size of the brand’s brand-new Pro Finish compact foundation.
